Who are the classes for?
The classes are aimed at young people aged 12β18, regardless of experience. Everyone is welcome without a strict entry requirement.
What is done in the classes?
The sessions teach the basic techniques of boxing, include diverse body control and fitness exercises, and are done together in a good spirit.
When and where are the classes held?
The classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Old School Boxing Gym in the center of Kuopio (Kuninkaankatu).
How much do the classes cost?
The classes are completely free.
Are your own supplies needed?
You will need clothes and shoes suitable for indoor sports and a water bottle. The gym has loaner gloves. We recommend getting your own hand wraps, which can be purchased at the gym for β¬15β19.
Who teaches the classes?
The training is led by experienced professional boxer and coach Tuomo Eronen and boxer Heikki Tenhunen.
How do the weekly classes differ from the youth basic course?
The basic course is a fixed-term course that progresses according to a clear curriculum.
The weekly classes, on the other hand, are low-threshold training sessions where you can get to know the sport at a more relaxed pace and develop your skills flexibly according to your own schedule. After completing the basic course, it is possible to continue training in the weekly classes.
How can I join?
Just show up. There is no need to register for the classes separately.
